Here are some pictures of Kai in the month of November. My friend, Kim, got Sarya a doll house from the Goodwill store, and I think Kai plays with it more than Sarya does. He tries to climb up on the 2nd floor. He thinks he’s hot stuff because he can climb up on it a little. Kai is also learning to Skate Board, we start them off real young, and then they grow out of skate boarding and once again Bryan is our solo skateboarder. Sad. Kai is also my little helper around the house. He likes to help load or unload the dishwasher, sweep the floor, and chase the vacuum. When Dante was a baby I couldn’t vacuum because he would scream and cry. Now I can’t vacuum because Kai tackles the vacuum. Kai just turned 8 months old yesterday, he’s starting to say, “mama.”

When Leslie was on her trip early this year I took the kids to a new park with some big rock formations to climb. I finally convinced Beau and Dante both to jump to me. Then Beau decided he didn’t need me catching him. He needs to learn to skateboard!

To the Zoo… and Beyond!

This is my first mobile blog post (from my phone) so I hope it looks right. I’ve been meaning to post this photo taken back in May. Beau and I went to the zoo with his class and I got this photo with my phone on the bus ride home. We were sharing the headphones and rocking out until Beau fell asleep ;). He loved the bats! We had a great time even though it was pouring all day.

Halloween/Fall time

November 12th, 2008 by Leslie · 1 Comment

Well we had a fantastic Halloween.  Our neighborhood was so fun to trick-o-treat around.  Super crowded though.  The weather was nice, rather warm for this time of year too.  Sarya was tinkerbell.  My mom made the costume last year for niece, Rylie.  Of course we got tons of candy.        Mid-October we had our church chili cook-off and the kids participated in the pumpkin contest.  Beau painted the skeleton, and Dante painted the ghost.   They did a pretty good job too, and they even won a prize for it.  We also got “booed” 3 times.  This was a new thing to us, we’ve never been “booed” before.  It’s where someone(s) ding-dong-ditch Halloween goodies on your front door and give you a “you’ve been booed” sign and instructions to pass the love on to more families.  After the first time we put up our sign, and we still got “booed” two more times.  We feel very loved, and thanks to everyone who brought us goodies.  Cupcake mix was one of them and the lovely pumpkin plate.   So we made cupcakes.  Bryan and I had a little too many though. This year we planted Tomatoes.  This was our first time planting stuff.  Usually I have a black thumb when it comes to plants.  So we’ve been quite delighted that our tomato garden was successful.  Since it is cooling down now, Bryan and the kids went and picked all the tomatoes so they could ripen in the house.   Kai has been pretty mobile for awhile.  He crawls like an iguana.  I know I used to have one.  Kai has been climbing the stairs for a few weeks now too, and he’s super fast.  He’s only 7 months.  This last week he’s  learned to pull himself up on his feet, and he’s so proud of himself and does it on everything.                                                          hello

Halloween Party

October 12th, 2008 by Leslie · 3 Comments

I was gone for something, and when I got back Kai had fallen asleep on the kitchen floor next to this baby doll.  Quite funny.      I love these army pants I got from Jennie, Kai seemed happy to be wearing them too.   Army pants crawl. Bryan and I went to a Halloween Party with some people from church.  No kids party.  Wow, and everyone had great customes.  There were no 2 couples a like.  This was so much fun and we already can’t wait until next years.  We kind of got customes last minute from my mom and brother.  It’s their renaissance costumes.  Still fun.  Glad we could go.  Thanks mom for watching the kids.  My headdress is actually a choker I got from my Aunt Vicky, it was hers.  Chokers just don’t look right on me, worked well for this though.   I had just gotten Kai ready for church when I snapped this picture of us. I didn’t realize his nose was runny. I need a photo filter option to remove green snot.

Just another day in Paradise!

October 5th, 2008 by Leslie · No Comments

Here’s Dante going to work with Bry.   Looks like he’s going on a safari.  Well some of those clients can be real tigers.  It’s a jungle out there.  Dante can’t wait to go with daddy to work though.  I get to go for a walk with my friends.     Kai guy likes to crawl lots, he’s now six months old.  Lately, he thinks it’s fun to crawl over things.  One of his favorite places to hang out and play in is his exerciser thing, and if he can’t sit and spin around he crawls underneath to play.  Especially now since he’s been getting cheerios, there is always a few left underneath.  It’s fun to watch him wiggle and kick himself out of there too.  You always know how he’s feeling by the way those feet are kicking the ground.  I call him happy feet, he always has those toes tapping the ground, but they can get mad too.   Kai always looks like he’s having so much fun the other kids try to hang out too.  Doesn’t really work.    Well as you can tell in the pictures above, my kids were looking a little shaggy.  I usually take them to my friend, who cuts their hair for $5.00 each, but it takes like half  an hour to get to her house now and so I decided to try and give them all haircuts myself.  You get what you paid for?  It was free, I did it myself, not too bad.  I think they look better.  Sarya was first up.  She can’t sit still for a second.  It was still pretty easy.   Next was Dante.  You would have thought I was asking to cut off his fingers,  he cried the whole time.  It took me at least 2 hours to cut his hair.  He sure liked how it looked when I was done, but acted like he was being tortured during it.  So I cut one of Kai’s hair to show him how much Kai, a baby, loved it.  Didn’t work, Dante still threw a fit.  So glad I’m done with Dante’s hair now, too bad his hair grows so fast.   When Beau got home from school I cut his hair.  After Dante, Beau was a perfect angel.  His friends were waiting for him, I should have cut the top a little shorter, but he wanted spikey hair.  I tried to borrow my mom’s hair clippers, but someone else had borrowed them from her and then moved out of state ( I won’t mention any names though, you know who you are ;p !! ).

Half the Hair

September 14th, 2008 by Leslie · 4 Comments

Kai was falling asleep in between bites.   Guess he was all tired out and food just didn’t help matters.      The kids enjoy wrestling with Daddy when he gets home.    He was proud he pinned all three kids.   And then there is Dante,  I thought his hair was cute so I was trying to take a picture and he kept doing all the superhero poses.        Then here’s me… I chopped off 11-12 inches of my hair.    I donated it to locks of love in honor of my aunts and my mother-in-law,  all who have been great examples to me and I love them so much.   This was the first time I have done this.   I love my long hair,  and I think Bryan shed a few tears before I left,  but I love this haircut too. It’s fun! I think Bryan is even learning to like it…  a little.    j/k,  he likes it too,  I think he was worried that he wouldn’t like it.    I’m still me. I’m also starting my own personal blog,  Lamp,  check it out.    Have a great week everyone!

Beach Trip

September 7th, 2008 by Leslie · 3 Comments

Hello All!  Well we had a crazy weekend. The weatherman said that it was going to be hot, sunny, and beautiful this weekend at the coast.  As you know the weatherman is always right.   So we packed up the kids and the van and headed down to Lincoln City to go to the skate park and the beach there. We were going to go to the skate park first and then go to the beach after it warmed up a bit. But when we got to the skate park the part where Bryan wanted to skate was all closed off for a class and wouldn’t be re-opened until 2 p.m.  So we went to the beach and it was very cold, very overcast, and very windy.   It would have been fine if it wasn’t so windy, but oh well.No one went in the water, we just played in the sand. Before we left, Bryan walked out to the water and so I snapped a few shots.    Couldn’t tell what it looked like cuz he was far away and Kai was squirming all around but when we got home we thought this shot was very interesting and we like it.   “Reflections” - Click it for Larger PhotoSarya woke up from her nap to come snuggle with me. Kai has been crawling around like crazy. But if he just wants to hang out and see what’s going on he rolls on his side and rests his hand on his leg then looks around at everything.    It’s kinda cute.   Then he rolls back on his tummy and away he goes. Thanks for stopping by.   Please leave me a comment so I know you came and visited and enjoyed (I hope) our pictures.  Also, I just wanted to give a shout-out to my cuz, Angel!    She just graduated with her masters and had her graduation ceremony and party this weekend.   Congratulations Angel and sorry I missed the celebration, I hope you had a wonderful time and good luck with the new teaching job.   Teachers rock!

Labor Day Weekend

September 1st, 2008 by Leslie · 2 Comments

Well we had a nice 3 day weekend. We went to the Beaverton skate park Saturday morning. Nice to go to skate parks in the morning when there’s just young kids and families there. In the afternoon the older kids come and bring their potty mouths. Drives me crazy how disrespectful most of them are and have no consideration for little kids.

Sarya looks so cute in her hat and outfit she got from her jamma. Kai is already 5 months old!

At the skate park Beau and Dante love to ride their bikes. I enjoyed watching the baseball game going on, and Bryan of course enjoyed skateboarding. Kai just chilled on the blanket. He was excited about the grass, likes to touch it. Sarya just ran around mostly.

Later in the day we went down the street to a nearby park. There’s a dirt bike course and Beau enjoyed riding his bike over the hills. Dante just spun around on the merry-go-round thing pretty much the whole time we were there. You remember those park things you spin around and around and around on till you are sick when you are younger, and when you’re older you just watch it go around and around and around and you get sick. You probably have the sick-dizzy feeling just thinking about it! Bryan really wanted to do a standing back flip while we were there. It’s been a few years since he’s tried one. Watching the gymnastics during the Olympics really got him itching to do some flips. But the body just isn’t as young as it used to be, or the mind isn’t as wreckless as those carefree days. He tried for awhile but couldn’t get his feet to go over his head, maybe next time.

We had a nice Sunday. We actually had extra time to take some pictures before we had to leave for church. Kai fell asleep on the floor after his bath. Hard work getting all beautifide. Later in the afternoon we went to Oma’s and Opa’s for dinner. My mom made a lovely meal. We ate too much like always. It’s nice to be spoiled every now and then.

Last but not least, here is a picture of Bry on his mini skateboarding trip today. He went with one of his skate buddies to a few parks this morning. He was trying something new and got wacked in between the eyes with his skateboard and gave him a good gash. No, that did not stop him from finishing his skateboarding tour. He finally made it home a few hours later. He called me before he got home to warn me that his face had been disfigured and he didn’t want to freak me out by the grotesque monster he had become. So, I’m sure you can imagine how badly I was expecting him to look… yep! Pretty scary! Don’t know if I could ever look upon him again.

Well, now we can be twins, I already have a scar in between my eyes. Did you read his shirt? That was his birthday present from Jeremy and Jennie (my bro and sis-in-law). Glad someone is looking out for his well being in the event he gets hurt, someone will know what to do. He proudly wears his shirt of course. He wasn’t hurt enough to keep him away from a good BBQ. We went to Oma’s and Opa’s again for our Labor Day BBQ. It’s not Labor Day without one.

Hope you all had a nice weekend with your friends and family too. Well got to get to bed so I can get up and send Beau of to school tomorrow. Yea!!!
